Empowering Young Survivors.

Building resilience through play and joyful connection in the aftermath of Disaster

In response to the Lahaina and Kula wildfires, Kuulei Shafee founded Resiliency Warriors. Through her work with Native Hawaiian Philanthropy and Maui Tumblers, she developed Heal Through Play. This innovative program provides children with vital socio-emotional and behavioral tools through play and cultural activities, helping them cope with post-disaster challenges like PTSD, anxiety, and depression. Kuulei witnessed first hand the impacts that left children with behavioral regression, separation anxiety, suicidal ideation, and more. Heal Through Play’s profound work with the children of Lahaina led to a collaboration between Resiliency Warriors and Mauli Ola, sacred spaces for disaster recovery. Join us in our mission to heal children impacted by Disasters, one community at a time.
